Junior eBusiness Architect

Crimsonwing is looking for a motivated Junior eBusiness Architect to join our dynamic eCommerce team in Hilversum. Crimsonwing is an international IT solutions provider developing and implementing leading-edge technologies and specialises in eCommerce, ERP and custom development solutions. Working with large-scale blue chip clients across Europe, our team has developed a number of award-winning solutions for our clients. Crimsonwing's energetic team continues to grow steadily and we are always on the lookout for people who can add competence and creativity to our dynamic projects.

The Opportunity - Junior eBusiness Architect

We are looking for an enthusiastic and communicative team member with a positive attitude, willingness to work hard and dedicated passion for producing quality work through web standards. A degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems or a related field is of great benefit, but significant experience in web based application development is a must.

Purpose of the Role: To work with lead architect to deliver the functional specification (requirements) on a range of class-leading eCommerce solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with the sales lead to develop pre-sales presentations.
  • Respond to clients RFI (request for information).
  • Prepare and host workshops to determine detailed requirements. Manage client expectations.
  • Deliver the initial architecture vision and solutions architecture specification.
  • Ensure the business architecture driven approach drives information and technical architecture plans.
  • Liase with other Technical Architects to ensure feasibility of the solution.
  • Guide the project during the early stages of detailed design by briefing the project manager on the expected solution.
  • Ensure that the delivery of the solution meets the functional requirements.

Experience Required

  • Previous experience working as a business analyst or in a functional architect role.
  • Experience of software development processes would be beneficial.
  • Work in a Prince 2 project management environment is advantageous, but is not a prerequisite.
  • Note: Whilst knowledge of the development process is useful, this is not a technical role. It is much more analysis than development and is unlikely to suit someone from a pure development background.

Personal Qualities

  • Professional demeanour.
  • Confident in dealing with a range of stakeholders including directors.
  • Logical and systematic in the process of capturing information. Good attention to detail.
  • Driven and focused.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Sound judgement and the ability to explain clearly how solutions will work.
  • Develop an intuitive understanding of the significance of certain design implications.
  • Ability to manage the client's expectations.
  • Able to work as part of team spread over multiple locations - you need to be a good listener.
  • Self-starter, you will be an important member of a busy team, ability to deliver and manage your own task workload will be a key element of the roll.

Skills Needed

  • Excellent written skills. The individual will produce detailed professional reports.
  • Good communication skills. Must be confident in leading a workshop meeting. Able to present to small groups (i.e. pre-sales, training).
  • Fluent in English as communication with colleagues in the UK and Malta is required.
  • Ability to talk to people of differing technical expertise. A great balance of technical, commercial and people skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of modern architectures and web technologies including ideally experience of at least one major eCommerce platform.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Project and Visio.

Probationary period: 6 months; you must be authorised to legally work in the Netherlands.

Business travel to client sites in the UK and to our Crimsonwing branch in the UK and Malta may be required, but will be paid for.
