A few weeks back, KPMG Crimsonwing employees had an unusual meeting, away from their desks, duties and deadlines. All the teams and departments of the company happily met up at De La Salle College to participate in KPMG Crimsonwing Malta’s annual Sports Day. Following the success of the first Sports Day held last year, Malta staff members were eagerly awaiting this day.
And they were not disappointed! Lots of preparations had been put in place by the Malta Sports and Social Opportunities for Personal Development (SOPD) committee, composed of KPMG Crimsonwing employees responsible for organising internal sports and social activities. The event ran smoothly, with great enthusiasm from all the participants and organisers. Teams were assembled for each activity and the competitions began. The different sports planned included team sports like football, volleyball and basketball as well as athletics, shot-put and long jump.
After several hours of games and effort, hats off to the winning teams and well-done to everyone! Team Captains Moira and Maurizio led their respective teams to victory in football and volleyball, whilst Team Captain Karlston’s team got its final last say at basketball. Congrats are also due to Ryan, who won the 100m race, Jason for coming first in the shot-put (i.e. before he broke his little finger!), and Kyle for winning the long jump. By the end of the day, all our athletes were tired, but they still all made it to cheer on the relay race, won by Team Captain Aaron’s team.
Over fifty people from KPMG Crimsonwing took part in the various competitions, bringing along with them their spouses and kids, who also got active by jumping on their bikes. The Sports Day ended in good spirit with a traditional tug of war.
From all of us at KPMG Crimsonwing, a big thank you and well-done to the SOPD committee for organising such a fun day! It was a great occasion for people from different departments to get together in an informal environment and have some fun. Some are already planning next year’s Sports Day to continue adding to their medal collection!
