On the 17th of September, the Danish printer Prinfo Aalborg took a big step forward with their Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution. Starting at 8.00am the server room was no longer home of their PrintVis and Microsoft Dynamics NAV installation; it was all lifted out to a hosted solution. Not only that. As the first company in Denmark, Prinfo Aalborg is now using a hosted Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013, a version so new it is actually not launched until October 2012. And one of the two first companies in the world, as a matter of fact.
The new platform and version delivers a fantastic work space for its users, from back office to shop floor. Notably the PrintVis Role Centers are now showing performance indicators graphically right from login.
PrintVis 2013 is of course, Certified for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013, so customers can rest assured that PrintVis ties perfectly in to Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 and enables them to leverage the full range of functionalities they find in both products.
Having a hosted solution has many advantages over an on-premises solution:
First of all takes the risk and maintenance workload off the shoulders of the company. In this actual case it has meant not having to invest in new servers and software to be able to work on the new platform. That’s a big cost taken out of the budget!
Second of all, Microsoft’s Cloud platform Azure is an open and flexible cloud solution, meaning that NAV 2013 can be accessed by users and developers at any time through any web-enabled device. So now one can even access NAV on the go through smart phones, iPads and the like. This enables users to quickly build, deploy and manage applications that are hosted across a global network of Microsoft-managed data centres.
As an extra bonus the solution is now running with a deal to update and move to new versions in the future without any extra costs.
Being the very first solution to run on Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 and Azure, PrintVis reasserts its will to be on top of innovation: “At PrintVis, we strive to take advantage of the latest technologies and provide our customers with the best possible business solutions. We have had the opportunity to test and one of our visionary customers, Jannnerup A/S, is currently using Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 on Windows Azure. Taking the leap to the cloud requires commitment and from our experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013, we are confident in its capabilities and believe that it will help our customers, like Jannerup A/S, be successful with their business.”
